Pre-authorisation Card Payment FAQs

What is a Card Payment pre-authorisation?
We believe our customers should have a secure and reliable payment experience when using their cards for payment. Therefore, we have implemented a pre-authentication policy for all card payments. The policy requires that all card payments be pre-authenticated before being processed. This means that customers must provide the necessary information for each card before any payment is accepted. This includes the cardholder's name, address, and contact details. Any discrepancies in this information will be flagged, and the payment will not be accepted.
Why does Lynx Taxis pre-authorise my paymnet card?
At Lynx Taxis, we understand the importance of ensuring our customers have a valid payment method and sufficient funds available when placing an order for a taxi. To ensure this, we use pre-authorisations to securely verify payments and guarantee that our drivers are promptly paid for the services they provide.Pre-authorisation is a common practice on all ride-hailing apps and means that your bank may temporarily reserve or hold the estimated fare of your booking. This hold is released by your bank once the transaction has been processed. This process is designed to protect both you and Lynx Taxis. How much you pre-authorised my card ?
We pre-authorise the estimated fare of your booking as part of our secure payment process. The exact amount of the pre-auth is determined by the estimated distance, duration and cost of the ride. It will be displayed on your Lynx Taxis app or web booker before you confirm your booking.
How long you pre-authorise card payment?
We release a pre-authorisation hold after your journey is completed, and it should be available in your bank account within 1 hour. However, some banks may take longer. If you'd like to know more about how long the pre-authorisation hold will last for your specific bank, we suggest contacting them directly.

Please Note: After you complete your journey, your pre-authorisation hold is automatically released. However, Lynx Taxis does not have the power to make these funds available sooner; this is up to your bank's discretion. We advise that you contact them directly if you have any questions or concerns about when your pre-authorisation hold will be released.
